(2009&2010), America Now, The Writer’s Presence, and
Brothers: 26 Stories on Love and Rivalry. His book, Street Shadows:
A Memoir of Race, Rebellion and Redemption, will be published in
January by Random House (Bantam). Dr. Walker is the recipient of
two of Bridgewater State College’s major awards: the Class of
1950 Most Distinguished Research Award, and the Martha D. Jones
Award for Most Outstanding Dedication to Students. Married and the
father of two young sons, he lives in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Bekoff is a former Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at
the University of Colorado, Boulder, and co-founder with Jane
Goodall of Ethologists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals . He
has won many awards for his scientific research including the
Exemplar Award from the Animal Behavior Society and a Guggenheim
Fellowship. Marc has written more than 200 articles, numerous
books, and has edited three encyclopedias. His books include the
Encyclopedia of Animal Rights and Animal Welfare, The Ten Trusts
(with Jane Goodall), the Encyclopedia of Animal Behavior, the
Encyclopedia of Human-Animal Relationships, Minding Animals, Animal
